A Place in the Sun for JJ-Lapp Cable
JJ-Lapp Cable has been awarded to provide the Lopburi Solar Power Plant in Thailand with 1,200 km of ÖLFLEX® Solar XLR Cable. This forms JJ-Lapp Cable’s largest deal in the area of renewable energy.
In Thailand, Neutral Energy Development Ltd (NED) is constructing one of the largest solar power plants in the world, and JJ-Lapp Cable is part of the project.
As many countries in the ASEAN region are looking towards the rapid deployment of solar power as a renewable energy, Thailand’s Board of Investment awarded NED to construct the Lopburi Solar Power Plant worth over THB 9bn. Construction started in August last year and will be carried out in two phases.
Cable specifications have been approved by NED and a consortium in December 2010 and JJ-Lapp Cable will supply a total of 1,200 km of ÖLFLEX® Solar XLR Cable for the construction of the world’s largest thin-film solar PV facilities. To date, this is JJ-Lapp Cable’s largest deal in the area of renewable energy.
The project is lead by JJ-Lapp Cable (T) Area Sales Manager Mr Kongkarn Paseepol with assistance from Pnich Boonwatcharachai, coordinated by Regional Product Manager Francis Cheng and strongly supported by Mr Michael Hamsa from Lapp Logistics and colleagues from Lapp Korea.
